Factbot Privacy Policy
Factbot helps users process Instagram and Telegram posts, text, images, albums, and videos, create fact-check summaries, and access one shared personal memory from either service.
The service, and the decisions about how the data described here is used, belong to Ivan Matveev, Tbilisi, Georgia — the data controller for this policy. Write to motya186@gmail.com about anything in it.
Information We Collect
- Instagram-scoped and professional-account identifiers, usernames when provided, webhook message identifiers, messages, notes, captions, shared media metadata, media URLs, and downloaded media required for processing.
- Telegram chat identifiers and usernames when you choose to link Telegram, forwarded post origin metadata, captions, and the file identifiers needed to fetch requested media.
- Audio transcripts, generated summaries and fact checks, topics, source references, personal memory entries, processing status, selected mode, credits, timestamps, errors, language preferences, conversation context limited for agent requests, and service-cost records.
- Limited technical and security logs needed to operate and protect the service.
How We Use Information
We use information only to provide requested Instagram and Telegram interactions; process shared content; generate transcripts, analyses, and memory entries; link accounts when requested; and operate, secure, and troubleshoot Factbot.
Service Providers and Data Transfers
Data may be processed by Meta/Instagram for messaging and media delivery, Telegram for the linked bot interface, Google Gemini for video and image understanding, OpenAI for audio transcription where that fallback is used, Anthropic for fact-check and localized response generation, public web sources used for requested deep fact checking, Paddle for card payments, and infrastructure providers that host the application and database. These providers may process data in countries different from your own under their applicable safeguards.
These providers supply components of the service; Factbot is independent of them and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
Payments
Paying in Telegram Stars happens entirely inside Telegram: we receive the identifier of the charge, the amount, and whether it was a subscription or a pack.
Paying by card happens on Paddle's checkout. Card numbers never reach us — they go to Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and is a separate controller for the order under its own privacy notice. From that purchase we keep the Paddle transaction, subscription, and customer identifiers, the amount, the currency, the plan bought, and the renewal date, so that credits can be granted, renewals recognised, and refunds honoured. The email address you enter at checkout stays with Paddle unless you write to us from it.
Why We May Use It
Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, we rely on: performance of a contract — running the bot, granting the credits you paid for, and keeping your memory; legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and reusing derived analysis of public content as described below; consent — for optional saving of a submission into your memory, which you can withdraw; and legal obligations — keeping payment records where tax or accounting law requires it.
Public Content Analysis Reuse
For public content — a post or reel shared from Instagram, or a post forwarded from a public Telegram channel — Factbot may reuse a derived media analysis and keep version fingerprints so repeated submissions do not require another media upload. This global cache is stored without User IDs or personal notes. A fact-check is run again for every request unless a recent verdict for the same content already exists, in which case that verdict is returned and the reply says so. Media you upload or record yourself is not placed in the cross-user cache.
Group Chats
Factbot can be added to a Telegram group. There it answers only an explicit request: a reply that mentions the bot, a mention containing a public link, a factual question addressed to it, or a reply to one of its own messages. It does not read or store the rest of the conversation.
When a group member requests a check, the message they replied to — its text and any photo or video it contains — is processed exactly like content that member had sent us directly: it is transferred to the media-understanding and fact-check providers listed above and, when that member has automatic saving enabled, it is stored in that member's personal memory together with a note of the chat it came from. The person who requested the check is the one charged for it, and only that person can use the buttons under the answer. Verdicts are statements about the content, not about the person who posted it.
If content of yours was checked in a group and you want it removed, write to motya186@gmail.com with the chat and the message; we will delete it from active systems as described below, including from the requesting member's memory.
Links You Share
You can turn a finished fact-check into a public link. The page it opens shows the verdict, its reasoning, the sources, the date of the check, and a link to the original post. It does not show your note, your memory, your balance, your language settings, or your account. Such a page is created only when you ask for it, is not indexed by search engines, and stays reachable by anyone who receives the link — so send it only to people you mean to show it to. If you want a link disabled, write to motya186@gmail.com.
No Sale or Behavioral Advertising
We do not sell your personal data, use it for behavioral advertising, or knowingly use it for purposes unrelated to operating Factbot.
Retention and Security
Downloaded files are temporary media: the application deletes raw local files as soon as processing succeeds or fails and requests deletion of uploaded Gemini files. Providers may retain transient processing data under their own policies. Derived transcripts, timelines, hashes, fact-check results, and User memory entries may remain as described below.
Active service data is retained while needed to provide Factbot. A verified deletion request is completed from active systems within 30 days unless limited retention is required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or law. Transient provider or infrastructure backups expire on their normal schedules. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent by contacting motya186@gmail.com. We may ask you to verify control of your linked Instagram or Telegram account before acting on a request. See the data deletion instructions.
A selected reply language applies to future Instagram and Telegram answers. Changing it does not rewrite existing memory entries.
Children
Factbot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and Contact
We may update this policy when Factbot or applicable requirements change. The updated date above will identify the current version. Questions can be sent to motya186@gmail.com.
